| "Off the Beaten Path!" Onie's Acres is a country store
which was built in the summer of 2004 by Prairie Cabins. The Yellow Poplar country store is loaded with unique crafts such as Amish goods, Farmer Brown soywax candles, vintage sculptures by Travis Burford, painted gourds by Jan Darr, homemade lye soaps and much more. We close down for the winter to recharge, recreate and restock our shelves. At Onie's Acres, we celebrate the seasons by reviving the times of olde. Demonstrations on making sorghum, spinning wool and painting gourds can be found speckled throughout our news & events section. Educational classes about our Midwestern habitat are available for children. Over 30 different varieties of pumpkins, gourds, squash, and corncan be discovered in our patch. The season winds down with an amazing selection of Christmas trees, evergreen roping and wreaths. The perfect gift is waiting for you -- Hope to see you soon! |
